This superb rice bowl is a piece of Arita Ware. Arita Ware, aka Imari Porcelain is a type of traditional Japanese porcelain wares made in the town of Arita, northwestern Kyushu.
The black stripes on inner side of the rice bowl is a Japanese pattern called Togusa. Togusa literally means ‘Ten Grass’.
The glossy look of this rice bowl may make itself look like a lacquer ware, but it is a porcelain piece. The glossy look will surely brighten the cooked rice grains even more.
